A Family owned vineyard
... Shaped by people
Behind Château Canon Chaigneau is a close-knit team, combining family ownership, long-standing vineyard expertise, and a shared vision carried between Bordeaux and Singapore.
The Family Behind Château Canon Chaigneau
Château Canon Chaigneau has a long history, with winemaking on this land dating back nearly 2,000 years.
More recently, London-born wine merchant Romik Arconian and his partner Marine Fontana, an agricultural engineer, have taken over the estate.
Still very much a family venture, the château is supported by their two young children and a small circle of close friends as long-term partners — ensuring independence, continuity and a shared long-term vision.
Based in Singapore, Romik and Marine oversee the commercial development of the estate, while remaining closely involved in all key decisions at the vineyard.
Continuity & Legacy
Continuity in the Vineyard
Understanding the importance of this long legacy, we have maintained close ties with the previous owners — the Marin family, who owned and operated the estate from the 1960s and remain shareholders to this day.
Louis Marin, former owner and long-time Chef de Culture, has stayed on in this role for almost 40 years, ensuring continuity, transmission of knowledge and an unparalleled connection to the vineyard.
The team on the Ground
Day after day, a dedicated team works in the vineyard and cellar, truly exceptional, combining skill, passion, and dedication to ensure the health and quality of every plant.
Their expertise and attention to detail are key to producing wines that reflect the best of our terroir
Their intimate knowledge of each parcel and each vine ensures that Château Canon Chaigneau continues to express its identity with consistency, balance and authenticity regardless of where the family is based.
This human continuity is a cornerstone of the estate and one of its greatest strengths.
Our Legendary Winemaker
The wines of Château Canon Chaigneau are vinified by Thierry Garnaud, former winemaker of Château Cheval Blanc for 38 years and one of Bordeaux’s most respected figures.
His vision, precision and deep understanding of the terroir play a defining role in the style and identity of the estate’s wines.
