Crafted from the finest parcels on our clay-limestone plateau in Néac, Château Canon Chaigneau 2019 is the flagship expression of our estate. Guided by Thierry Garnaud, former Cellar Master of Château Cheval Blanc for 38 years, this outstanding vintage showcases the depth, elegance and longevity of great Lalande-de-Pomerol.
A blend of 93% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec, matured in concrete vats and 500-litre French oak barrels, it reveals layers of dark cherries, black plums, spice and delicate floral notes. The palate is rich yet beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, vibrant freshness and a long, refined finish. Already highly acclaimed by leading critics, this wine is drinking superbly today and will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 10 to 15 years.

- ’The 2019 Canon Chaigneau has more fruit on the nose compared to the Cuve 8A, though that is partly because it is less reduced. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fleshier than the Cuve 8A, quite substantial yet focused, with a judicious touch of white pepper on the aftertaste. Excellent.’
